HCL offers a composite banding system, incorporating Smart® Band working in conjunction with Smart Saddles and Protectors to provide secure, long-term, cost-effective clamping to offshore structures. HCL’s solution can be used to attach cables, conduits, corrosion coupons, sensors, ICCP anodes and cabling.

The Offshore Clamping System - 3 Simple Components
Smart Band Compact
A high strength composite polymer fixed length strap (cable tie), Incorporating Glass Fibre reinforced yarn and an overmoulded buckle, available in 32mm (1,1/4inch) or 19mm (¾”Inch) widths, Length can be configured to clients requirements.
Saddles and protectors
Various polyurethane or injection moulded components which allow the bracketing or clamping of cables, conduits, ICCP anodes or any other shape to the offshore structure. These components act as an interface and are used in conjunction with the Smart Band. Saddles can be designed to meet client requirements.
Manual Installation Tools
The 2000 & 1000 tools are lightweight tools designed and made in the UK specifically to withstand the rigours of the offshore environment. Highly suited to installation by either rope access or divers the tools have a built in cutter whilst in addition the 1000 tool offers tension torque control.Both are intuitive to operate and can install the Smart Band quickly and effectively.

Our range of polymer composite banding and saddles solutions utilising PA12, PPS, Polyurethane materials are completely metal free and therefore are non-magnetic, corrosion free, and will not interfere with an existing cathodic protection system.

Projects
Greater Gabbard
Retrofit of ICCP conduits utilising Smart Band Compact and PU Moulded saddles, to replace original corroded items to monopile wind turbines in the Greater Gabbard field for SSE Renewables.
Hinkley Point
32mm Compact Smart Band supplied to attach electrical & hydraulic cables for future automatic release of steel structure from concrete sea water intake.
Cold Harbour Jetty
HCL’s ICCP Clamping system used in a cantilever configuration for a diverless installation.
Parkwind's Arcadis
ICCP and Reference cables secured in place on Parkwind's Arcadis Ost 1 Offshore wind farm with a bespoke HCL saddle and smart tie into a curved channel conduit exposed to open water conditions.
Permasense Sensors
Smart Band 19mm is utilised by Emerson to attach their Permasense corrosion monitoring sensors.
Tension Technology
Smart Band utilised to install riser protection nets designed to absorb the energy of an impact.
Bard Wind Farm
Installation of ICCP conduits for anodes and reference electrodes to ladders and vertical fender columns on the Bard Wind Farm. Smart Band 32mm Compact and PA12 injection moulded saddles were used in this project.

Auxillary cable clamping from pile to sensor leg on the London Array Wind Farm.
